Chez Philipaud, that’s the name of our Domaine. A small, quiet resort with two apartments, a swimming pool and a mini-camp. It is also the name of the hamlet part of the municipality Lamérac, located on the border of the Charente and the Charente Maritime. Domaine Chez Philipaud is situated in a gently sloping area where vines and sunflowers set the scene. The Charente has a wonderful climate: 2200 hours of sunshine per year!
It all started in 2009 with this beautiful house, Le Veysset.
In July 2010, the garden pool (5 x 10 m) was completed. In 2011 the old barn in the orchard was converted into a gite for 2 persons: Le Fenil.
In 2012, a small camp with six spacious pitches was realized.
It is possible to rent professional bicycles. Not only bikes in various sizes, but also all kinds of accessories. The bikes are delivered and picked up at our Domaine. Easy to do!
All information on the bikes to rent and related issues can be found here.
Where is it situated? Lamérac is located in the Charente, between Cognac and Bordeaux.
To be more exactly: in the south-west of the Charente, close to the Charente Maritime. It is about 40 kilometers southwest of Angouleme. The nearest town is Barbezieux.
For who ? Domaine Chez Philipaud is especially suitable for those seeking tranquility. The silence is fantastic, there is hardly any traffic. The nights are really dark, the night sky is awesome.
The area: the landscape is hilly. You can explore the area on foot or by cycle.
There are several small and larger towns in the area. There are fantastic opportunities for all kinds of (water-based) activities, from sporting challenges to more leisurely pursuits. For example, you will find several golf courses in the area. For children there is plenty to enjoy.
For shopping, you can visit Baignes Sainte Radegonde (6 km) or slightly further Barbezieux ( 8 km). Here you will also find all the medical facilities . Because of the large distances, a car is necessary.
